Hello, i have a problem with the g15daemon. I have an 64bit system with a g15v2 .I think since the last update of the g15daemon(1.9.5.3 to 1.9.5.3-r1), it suddenly changes the page from alone. That mean, that when i am reading a page, looking youtube or something like that, the g15daemon jumps to the home-page(at the moment as i am writing that here it also changes to the startpage). Have someone an idea what i could do?
Questions: The clock changes from alone between the different themes. It changes after ~20seconds from analog to digital clock, from PM/AM to 24hour, and so on. How can i stop that? I am new in g15daemon.
Questions: How can i get that system usage screen working? I have installed g15stats, but i cant see anything. I have started the init.d script named g15stats.
Questions: I listen often with amarok internet-radio and would like to use the amarok plugin, so that the actual played songs dont popup in the middle of the screen, but get shown in the g15 keyboard(perfectly only when the song changes and the other time the system load screen)
Thanks
Re: G15daemon often change the page in firefox + questions
I haven't tried it, but you should be able to copy $PORTDIR/dev-libs/libg15/libg15-1.2.6.ebuild to libg15-1.2.7.ebuild and then emerge libg15. I don't manage the Gentoo ebuilds myself even though I use Gentoo, there is an LCD group within Gentoo that does that.
Re: G15daemon often change the page in firefox + questions
Strange, i didnt get any mail that here have been a new post. I see that you have made a new version - 1.2.7 (from today!!!) .It is not till now in portage. Do you know the person who make the ebuilds? Did you made them yourself? And yes, you are right, the problem must be in libg15, because i changed to previous g15daemon version and the problem just exists.
Sorry, that i have not tested the svn. Please write me a pn about that(so that i get a mail). I am realy interested in helping opensource projects and would always test such things when i have time.
Re: G15daemon often change the page in firefox + questions
There's a chance these issues are caused by an issue with keypress handling for G15v2 keyboards in libg15 1.2.6. I have a fix in SVN as r291, if you could test that before I tag it for release it would be appreciated. Thanks.
Re: G15daemon often change the page in firefox + questions
It looks like -r1 includes a script to restart g15daemon when a hotplug event is detected for the keyboard. The scripts look fine, but I'd try reverting to 1.9.5.3 to see if that fixes things for you. If it does you'll need to report it as a bug to Gentoo.
Re: G15daemon often change the page in firefox + questions
I'd try downgrading, unless you can find information as to why they created an unofficial version (since you have trouble with it).
Re: G15daemon often change the page in firefox + questions
i just get it from the normal portage tree.

Re: G15daemon often change the page in firefox + questions
Honestly i got no idea, haven't heard about this kind of trouble before.
By the way: There's no version 1.9.5.3-r1, where did you get that from?
Re: G15daemon often change the page in firefox + questions
I got g15stats running, but the clock always tries to get infront and so the screen changes between the stats and the clock(different kinds of the clock) the whole time. I cant remember, that the clock changes from alone in the 1.9.5.3. At the moment, thats the biggest problem. I cant use g15daemon, because it makes firefox unusable (the clock is changing the whole time and not only when firefox is running).
Have someone an idea how to solve that problem(not just taking the old version, because thats a heavy bug and i would like to help getting it out)?
Re: G15daemon often change the page in firefox + questions
@ The clock: It should not change like that. Problems sounds related to firefox problem. And none of this happends in 1.9.5.3?
@g15stats, try running it from a terminal (cmd is g15stats :))
@amarok: use amarok's builtin script manager, hit get new scripts (or something like it), you will find a couple of g15 scripts in there that are functional. I use g15-simple.sh.
