G15 on Linux

Is this possible? I seem to have finally gotten Ubuntu to recognize my gkeys (more or less), and can even run programs with them using xbindkeys (though not with g15macro). I would really love to be able to use these gkeys for binds in my favorite game: Nexuiz. Unfortunately, the game does not recognize the keypresses. Is there something I can do from the end of Ubuntu, or g15tools... or is this problem purely on the Nexuiz end? Thanks!
