Logitech Z-10 USB Speakers

Hi,

I have a pair of Logitech Z-10 speakers and I've installed g15daemon from the Ubuntu 9.10 64-BIT repositories. This has enabled the clock on the speaker LCD display...

I was looking for a newb guide to configure the LCD display and get song information from Banshee (and possibly others?). I just wanted to know which packages I'd need to install (or build) and which config files I need to edit?

Once you've got g15daemon up

Once you've got g15daemon up and running, the next step is to find some clients. Plugins for XMMS and Audacious are available from the g15daemon SourceForge page or SVN. Another user here has a plugin for Rhythmbox referenced here: http://www.g15tools.com/node/151#comment-814. I don't know of any maintained plugins for Banshee, though I had started one when I was working on G15Tools++ and learning DBus. If you don't find anything else and really want to stick with Banshee, let me know and I'll try to dig it up.

Awesome

Yeah I'd love to try your banshee plugin..

What is G15tools++, is that some kind of extension to g15tools?

I also installed the g15stats package from the ubuntu repo and I see that I can launch g15stats from the terminal to get a nice stats display on the speaker lcd. is there any way to automate this so that the speaker lcd cycles between the time and the stats, like how it works in Windows?

Cheers

G15Tools++

G15Tools++ is a C++ wrapper around libg15daemon-client and libg15render, providing an object oriented interface for building native g15tools applications.

I do not believe that g15daemon provides screen cycling capabilities. However, you can try lcdproc which does support the G15 as a display target and does cycle through stats screens.

Thanks

Did you manage to find your banshee plugin? :-)
